Hello! I am a lover of words, dogs, cake, God, and murder mysteries – not necessarily in that order.
I was raised near Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, where I spent most of my adult life. For the past four years, I have lived in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada, just a little way from the beautiful Canadian Rockies and the busy city of Calgary.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and history, as well as certification in both life coaching and Christian ministry. I have worked in writing and editing since my student days at the University of New Brunswick, including more than ten years in the university’s donor relations office.
Along the way, my spiritual life has developed (as spiritual lives ideally do), and I find myself leaning toward an increasingly progressive and inclusive version of my childhood faith, one where God is love and questions are welcome – as are ALL the people.
Some of my hobbies include gardening (which is a whole different thing in Alberta compared to the Maritimes), baking, and textile arts of all sorts.
A dream of mine for the future is to travel throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, visiting old church buildings and writing about the experience. I think there’s something to be explored about what endures and what changes in the material as well as spiritual aspects of faith.
