I am a lover of words, dogs, cake, God, and murder mysteries – not necessarily in that order.
A proud and grateful Canadian, I was raised near Fredericton, New Brunswick. For the past four years, I have lived in Cochrane, Alberta, just a little way from the beautiful Canadian Rockies and the busy city of Calgary. Before that, I spent three years in Golden, British Columbia, gazing in awe at the mountains and wishing for just a bit more sunlight.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and history from the University of New Brunswick and am trained and experienced in both life coaching and spiritual ministry. A skilled wordsmith, I have worked in writing and editing since my student days, including several years at UNB’s donor relations office.
Along the way, my spiritual life has developed (as spiritual lives ideally do), and I find myself leaning toward an increasingly progressive and inclusive version of my childhood faith, one where God is love and questions are welcome – as are ALL the people.

Some of my non-reading hobbies include gardening (which is a whole different thing in Alberta compared to the Maritimes or BC), baking, and textile arts of all sorts. I do love to get my hands into things!
A dream of mine is to travel throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, visiting old church buildings and writing about the experience in light of my own spiritual journey. I think there’s something to be explored about what endures and what changes in the material as well as spiritual aspects of faith.
